I feel like when you’re pregnant, you spend most of your time thinking about the birth.
I was so busy with all the delivery options and general details that I hardly ever thought about recovery after childbirth.

To put it simply, you feel happy afterwards, not to mention the fact that your hormones are high and you sleep very badly.
One thing that didn’t make my recovery so bad was that I had the right food to help me through four or six weeks of recovery.

Why do you need pregnancy pads
Actually, it’s very simple: You need maternity compresses because you’ll bleed a lot.
I thought I’d have less pain because I had a Caesarean section. Breastfeeding. Bleeding can be relieved by a simple act of breastfeeding. What for? If you’re a nurse, you secrete a hormone called oxytocin. This allows the uterus to contract faster and bleeding is usually reduced.
Write a lot. After the Caesarean section I didn’t want to sit on the toilet for some reason, but my nurse told me that the more I pee, the softer the uterus becomes, which means less bleeding!
Try to avoid anticoagulants. Medicines such as ibuprofen and aspirin can make you feel better, but they liquefy your blood and prolong bleeding.
Take enough iron. A low iron level only makes the bleeding worse, so eat enough meat and even consider taking an iron supplement.
Herbal medicine. Some herbs are known to reduce bleeding. Ask your doctor if you can take your witch hazel, raspberry leaves or even the bark of your cotton roots with you after birth (you can find them in health food stores or on the internet).

Heavy bleeding is only part of the recovery after childbirth. It stinks, but with the right pillow and a few tips and tricks you will stay as waterproof and comfortable as possible for about a month!
