Chicco Liteway is a heavy duty stroller with a classic foldable umbrella. It has the lowest score in terms of weight and folded dimensions, which significantly influenced its overall score and rank. In short, Chicco is a frustrating stroller that looks good on paper but fails compared to similar products. With a lower price in the price list, Chicco feels like a good buy, but some of its competitors with similar prices would be better options with higher overall points. However, Chicco has managed to achieve significant results in terms of handling and user-friendliness, which are important for an umbrella product. These results make Liteway an option for those who appreciate ease of use and simplicity, and who have a limited budget with little room for manoeuvre.
Our analyses and test results
Chicco is Europe’s largest children’s brand and belongs to the Artana Group, a holistic company offering products for everything from baby food to cosmetics and medical supplies. Founded by Enrico Catelli, Chicco (kee-ko) develops and sells products for preschoolers in more than 120 countries.
Equation of performance
The shoulder strap makes it easier to carry the heavy Chicco than the appropriate handle.
Weight and bending angle
At 17.9 pounds, the Liteway is a heavier and lighter stroller, and few strollers weigh more in this ratio. This stroller can be folded up to 7,196.70 cubic centimetres and is one of the heaviest and largest in the group.
Easy to use
Despite the fact that Liteway is one of the easiest to use, the results are not impressive, because none of the matches are really easy to use.
Chicco is more than many parents would look for in a wicker stroller that should be easy to carry and store.
Folding and unfolding
Liteway has a typical umbrella fold that works with one hand. It has an automatic lock, but it can’t work on its own, so it has to be kept or stored somewhere long enough to be placed.
The Liteway is equipped with double-acting brakes that are easy to release and comfortable for sandals, but slightly more difficult to adjust with a hard pedal that requires a lot of pressure.
The storage basket is easy to use, but only when the backrest is upright.
The Liteway Storage Basket weighs 1.5 kg and we put our medium sized diaper bag in it. It is easily accessible if you do not want to use the container with the seat folded down. It also has a removable cup holder for parents.
The Lithuanian awning is on the short side and has no windows.
The Liteway blanket is medium in size and offers no protection against UV rays. It has no high-profile window and is not large enough to provide the best protection from the sun, but it is easy to open and close.
The Liteway has a multi-piece loop and shoulder pads that need to be removed for adjustment.
Chicco has a 5-axle belt with a two-piece buckle. To adjust the straps, remove the shoulder strap and to reposition it, remove the shoulder straps from the knee brace and push a slot corresponding to the height of the backrest.
Liteway has a curved, easy to use and adjustable footrest.
The Liteway is almost flat, but has an audible click that can wake up some children. It has a soft, adjustable footrest with a weird adjustment, because there is a part that holds the footrest and a separate lever to lock and unlock it with another button. All settings are easy to use and are in the same place, but seem to meander.
An important remark about wheelchairs with umbrellas. We do not recommend its use on children under six months of age. This type of pushchair is not suitable for people under six months of age, whose characteristics provide minimal support. Young children do not yet have the necessary control over their head and neck to prevent possible rolling wounds on uneven ground. If you want to use a stroller with reed with your child, we recommend products that work with approved car carriers (see comparison table). In addition, you should fasten your child with the correct seatbelt and regularly check that he or she is correctly fastened while walking.
Chicco took us at 5:16 to get together without tools and without supervision.
Although this stroller is quite easy to push and turn, it is difficult to get it off the road, which is traumatic for the results of the driving test. Even with lockable caster wheels, this stroller is difficult to push and turn when walking on grass and gravel, making it a bad choice for changing terrain in the park.
Liteway is neither impressive nor disappointing in the quality you would expect from a stroller at this price.
Liteway is of medium quality and reflects the materials and structures used in its production. With its open joints, rivets and uneven seams, it is unsurpassed or truly brilliant.
