I like the modern design elements, but some functions can’t impress because of their lack of functionality.

The Boon Flair Pedestal High Chair is a fun way to feed your baby. It is a heavy chair, but it is easy to turn in the kitchen and can be adjusted to different heights thanks to a pneumatic lift. As he says, it is easy to clean and there are No. slots in which food can be caught. However, we noticed that all food that did not end up on the chair eventually fell on a large round foot and still had to be wiped off. It is made of durable materials and allows your baby to sit comfortably upright while eating. When he was 18 months old, our little tester couldn’t reach the foot end, but he liked to sit on the counterweight with his brothers and sisters on the crutches. Unlike Peg Perego Siesta, this chair cannot be folded, so it is not possible to store it for this beauty. So be prepared to watch him until your baby reaches the age of 4 or 50 pounds. Read on to learn more about how this precious airlift landed on our feeders.
Our analyses and test results
Boon Inc, based in Chandler, Arizona, is a children’s design and production company headed by Rebecca Finell and Ryan Fernandez. The company began operations in 2004 with the desire to improve the children’s bathroom and today strives to produce a wide range of affordable and innovative children’s equipment. You can buy their products online or in selected stores around the world.
Equation of performance
The Boon Flair Pedestal high chair has a wide range of height adjustments depending on where you want to feed your baby.
Easy to use
At first glance, this chair looks like a futuristic, simplified product that seems fairly easy to use due to the absence of gadgets and devices; there are no unnecessary hidden buttons or handles to confuse inexperienced parents. Only a brightly colored height adjustment knob and a foot brake decorate the base. This chair is suitable for children under 4 or 50 pounds. Although the pneumatic lift allows free height adjustment, it does not allow tilting or foot adjustment. Our child tester at the age of 31 has not yet been able to reach the step and other online testers find the step unnecessary because most children in the age/weight range cannot reach the step. The chair mat is fairly easy to clean, but not very comfortable.
Although it is fairly easy to erase, Flair only showed slightly more than average results compared to the other chairs we tested. For starters, we don’t like having to clean the big round foot of this chair. This flat surface tends to absorb drops, crumbs and spills that a small tray can miss. In addition, because the brake and lift act like a foot, it usually collects footprints and dirt from everyday use. Our second seat is a five-point belt. Fortunately it is removable and light enough to be washed in the sink, but the loop is like a food magnet and catches crumbs every timefood is used. We appreciate that the straps are easy to remove for cleaning, but it is not realistic to do this after every meal.
Flair’s shiny surfaces and futuristic design will undoubtedly help justify his name. But if the chair has good materials and good finishes, the pneumatic lift was annoying from the start, because it put large valves on the quality. Once the chair is assembled, the work of the pneumatic lift can be difficult, almost to the point where it seems impossible. After contacting customer service, the company voluntarily sent a new chair. To our disappointment, however, the new product had the same problem with the lift.
The 5-point retention system and super-stable inguinal clamp are directly integrated into the Boon chair.
In a conversation with a very helpful customer service employee, we discovered that the problem had to do with the fact that the oil was deposited in the wrong place during storage and transport, which is not so unusual. Instead of steering a third seat, they tested a new cylinder at the company to make sure it worked, and sent us exactly that part. After about 5 minutes we could replace the part and the chair worked as promised. Two thumbs for fast and polite customer service, just one thumb to finish the process first, especially when there’s a hungry baby on the starting blocks!
The compartment is another problem. Other users have expressed concerns about the power of the tablet, and we can understand why. There is no path to get in, only two small recesses on either side of the chair where the tray is attached. We think it’s easy for a difficult child to turn over a tray in case of an accident.
The assembly time is average compared to the other chairs we tested. The assembly takes about 8 minutes, the heaviest part being the number of screws needed and the need to follow only the average instructions. It took about five minutes to replace the cylinder Boone sent us.
Bottom of Boone’s base.
Printing and portability
Flair is equipped with six 543 square inch urethane wheels, the dimensions and characteristics of which cannot be matched by any of our chairs. There is a foot brake that controls all six rollers at the same time, even if there is still some shiver when braking. We do not like the fact that there is no way to determine whether the brake has been installed after application. The only way to be sure is to test it by trying to push the chair. This chair is also one of the least portable in the magazine. Weighing almost 10 kilos, it is bulky and cannot be folded for storage. So it will be a semi-permanent accessory in your kitchen for all those little years.
